About me
My name is Sarah Hale and I am a filmmaker, videographer, photographer and business owner based in Oman. Originally from a little town in Wisconsin, I transferred from Midwest to Mideast in search of opportunity, education and adventure.
I started a photo and video company based in Oman in 2017 and work full time covering everything from weddings, cultural events, large-scale corporate events, family photos, and small business videos. I love the diversity of my work and it enables me to meet different people, hear new stories and learn about opportunities for other projects. These are the activities that fund me to be able to work on projects that I would really like to expand.
I have created several short documentaries around Oman on topics ranging from sea turtle conservation to documenting the disappearing Kemzari language in the northern tip of Oman. I have so many more ideas for documentaries that I would like to film, but it takes time and it takes money so between self funding and searching for sponsorship, it takes a lot of effort to put together (before the actual hard work of filming!)
One of my skills after living in Oman since 2010 is having a large network of clients and friends to be able to organize these documentaries and promote them. I am hoping the next documentary project will be full length and will be about the Secrets of the Frankincense Trail. Other documentaries I want to do are investigating the relationship and communication between man and camel of the bedouins in Wahaiba Sands, and exploring the question of can you love something and leave it a alone, a look at environmental degradation on Socotra Island.
If you have an idea or a project you want to chat about, please reach out! I am particularly interested in projects about the environment, conservation, culture and heritage, women, small business and health and wellness.
